The New National Curriculum 2014

This is an exciting year with the introduction of the New National Curriculum for Year groups 1 - 6.

This information is to help keep you, our parents and carers, up to date with what is happening.

Over the course of this year, slight amendments may be made while schools are refining our curriculum documents, so keep checking the website so that you are up to date and part of this process.

Year 2 and 6 will continue on the old curriculum for the majority of 2014-2015 as they will be required to complete the statutory assessments in their current format in May 2015.

From that point on all the children throughout school will then be accessing the new National Curriculum from Year 1 through to Year 6.

Our Curriculum has three whole school themes, one for each term.

These enable the school to share common key learning strands whilst each year group has their own topic themes to cover the curriculum too.

Our Whole School Themes are:

Term One:

Global Citizenship and Diversity

Term Two:

Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) through Enterprise

Term Three:

Planet Protectors
